In water, they propel a boat forward at speed. The simple fact of the blades rotating, displaces the air or water sufficiently to create these effects. Physics is exciting when seen in action like this.

It is precious and in many parts of the world, it is in very short supply, and constantly prayed for. Man has learned to store water when it is available, by damming up rivers in areas where the rain in the wet seasons will hopefully be sufficient to allow for constant water to be provided during the dry seasons.
