How to install a successful Drupal

Drupal is a great product in terms of its compatibility, because Drupal is the Content Management System, making it so simple to use. Therefore to install a new theme you must start first with downloading the Drupal software. Another thing to remember about compatibility is that each version of Drupal has a set of compatible themes and it is not possible to install a Drupal 6 theme for use on Drupal 5 for example.

Choose your theme and download it to your computer bearing in mind that it is a package enclosed in a folder. Then nip off to the backend of your Drupal site. By now this will be familiar to you with the list of directories that resemble folders. Locate the folder called Themes and now it is time to upload the theme from your computer to that directory on your site by clicking on browse and then selecting the entire folder containing the new theme package. This package is a folder, so it will become a subfolder when it is uploaded into the themes folder. Once it has been successfully installed Drupal will detect it automatically.

Your themes folder may have a variety of themes you have chosen and you can enable your new theme simply by clicking Administer and then choosing themes. Now you will see a list of your chosen themes, you can select your new theme to enable the new design on your site.
